My daughter just got back from Bangkok two days ago. She said she had an amazing holiday and that the people were lovely as you said. Glad you are ok. -

My Husband Lies
by disillusioned 2 inmy husband went to the assembly at the weekend.
a few people asked about me, why didn't i go anymore?
he lied and told them "i don't know"!

Haven't thought of him as being protective of me for a long time, but maybe he just didn't want to talk about it. I haven't been to meetings for years though and he seems to get the same questions every year. One was from my own sister who I have told that I don't believe it anymore and why. She never rings me and I think she has chosen to forget what I told her. I guess I'm just having a moan about him. He hardly ever speaks to me and when he does its with contempt. Today was the first time he has spoken to me since the assembly (4 days) and that was what he said, just before he went out to the meeting.
Nobody rang me to ask me why and I don't think they will as nobody has for years.

My husband went to the Assembly at the weekend. A few people asked about me, why didn't I go anymore? He lied and told them "I don't know"! He says, "why don't you ring her and ask her yourself". I don't know why he answers this way as he knows exactly why I don't go anymore. We have had so many discussions/arguments about this that it would be impossible for him not to know. He blatantly lied and at the Assembly. -

Will the resurrected marry/have children?
by davidmitchell ini have just finished reading 'brock talon's' two books.
in one of them, entitled journey to god's house, pub.
he comments on how the wt's pictures of the post-armageddon world do not agree with their doctrines, namely that those who are physically resurrected will not marry/have children.

The possibility does not even enter their heads that there may not be an earthly resurrection at all! Even though there are no scriptures referring to a paradise earth. They have held on to Rutherford's teaching for all these years, I guess there's no going back now to what Russell (and most other religions) taught, that EVERYONE had a heavenly hope and not just a select few. -

Can You Really Become Inactive Instead of DA'ing and Keep Your Family
by truth-or-consequences inoz branch coordinator terrence o'brien opined a number of times at about 1:00:00 until about 1:15:00 of his testimony, that a dub does not need to da, they can become "inactive.".
i sent our beloved angus stewart my personal experience, as well as observations about official borg teachings.
(he replied in short order.).

My family still associate with me. They live in hope that I will return. I have just received the 'return to jehovah' booklet from my sister. They will not give up on me. My friends though are a different story. They have stopped socializing with me. Although if I saw them somewhere they would speak to me, just being friendly. -

Do video games cause bad behaviour in children?
by The Rebel inmy boy is 10 and has got very interested in pocamon cards.
( a game way to complicated for me to understand) but i've also noticed it's linked to a computer game, which seems harmless enough but i also noticed advertisements for more violent games appear.. i would value people's opinion on whether, you think video games cause bad behaviour in kids.
i should mention my kid says i limit his time on these games, much more than other children's parents, and i was thinking of reevaluating that rule.. thanks.. the rebel..

Just from personal experience. My two sons and sometimes my daughters have played and still play, video games. They started when they were very young, under ten. Now that they are grown they have a big collection of games. My eldest son who is 25 played them at his job as a games tester working at Sony.
I don't think the games have made any of my children violent. They have spent many happy hours with each other and their friends in my house playing games. They are all lovely, caring children, including their friends.
The only thing is as others have commented on. They were obsessed so much with the games they rarely played out and are not interested in sport. Although now they are grown up they go to the gym.

I feel for you and I am going through exactly the same thing with my husband. We don't talk anymore about it, in fact we don't talk much about anything. I feel I am walking on eggshells every day trying not to talk about it. He leaves books out deliberately on table, on bed. Magazines, leaflets. I just put them away but I want to put them in the bin!
I have so many things I want to say, I am screaming inside. Full of information I can't tell him because I know we would argue and it causes too much stress. It is easier to just go through the motions of everyday life than to forcefully try to get him to listen.
He has literally no idea about what is going on in Australia or anywhere else for that matter. He only knows and believes what is in their literature and what he hears at the meetings.

Check out JW-Archive.org. This is a tough time for our elders, they need your support!
Fascinating reading the comments, seeing what the jws are thinking about what is going on in Australia.
There are many apostates on there arguing with them.

by maksutov inhas anybody confronted any jws with the royal commission reports on the news yet?
i showed my 8-year old daughter a newspaper headline about it, and when she told my jw wife that the jws in australia were in trouble for not reporting over 1,000 child abusers to police, her response was "oh, really?
well, i don't know what the rules are over there.

I looked through Daily Express, Daily Mail, in news agents this morning, saw nothing about it. I get the Mirror every day. There has been nothing in the Mirror. I have also seen nothing on news in UK so far.
Maybe I may see something on evening news tonight.

My family have no idea that anything is happening in Australia. I am in UK and as far as I know there has been nothing in the news or newspapers over here. Even if it was they would find some way of excusing it.
